I’m particularly in awe of this person because they made an initial version of this playlist on the day that the series came out. The soundtrack itself is full of unknown (to me) songs and artists, which is giving me the opportunity to go down an incredible number of rabbit holes, and to work out why Curtis chooses to put video and music together at specific moments.īefore I go any further, someone has, incredibly, already created a playlist of all of the music that Curtis uses in the series, which you can listen to here: I highly recommend it. The songs are played over the clips Curtis layers together to tell his stories of 20th century history, from the developments in psychology to the stories of individuals like Assata Shakur (former member of the Black Liberation Army) and Jiang Qing (Mao Zedong’s wife). Can’t Get You Out of My Head, the recently released series of documentary films by Adam Curtis, has a brilliant soundtrack.
